My busy weekend

Grandma and Grandpa Degroff, Uncle Jason, and cousins Jaylee, Trista and Gauge came to visit last weekend. We went to visit our great grandma and grandpa - Nana and Papa. Here we are with Papa. Me and my great Nana Mom and I took Grandma and cousins Jaylee, Trista and Gauge to the zoo. When we saw the lemurs Trista sang, "I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it. We like to . . . move it!" Trista and the tiny monkey. I watched cousin Gauge feed the swans. Cousin Jaylee just did her 4-H speech on the penguin. She knows all about them!! Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? Look at this beautiful peacock we saw!! Grandma and I played with some rocks. I ate a lot of bananna and some grapes. Yeah - I am eating more fruits now!!

My 1 year doctor appointment

Mom forgot the camera, so we don't have any pictures - oh well. I think I remember that place from before. I wasn't too sure of the doctor touching me with her stethoscope. I weighed in at 18 lbs, 13 oz (25th percentile), I am 28.5" long (also 25th percentile), and my head is in the 50th percentile (mom doesn't remember the measurment). The doctor said I have another ear infection, so we got some antibiotics for that. I got 3 shots and I cried, cried cried. Mommy nearly cried too. I haven't been eating many fruits and vege's, and I haven't really gotten the hang of the sippy cup yet, so the doctor said for me to keep getting my fomula in the bottle for a bit longer. Mom and Dad are going to try using cups and straws and hope I get the hang of the sippy cup soon. (And they hope I start eating more fruits and veges soon).

Happy Easter

Although I am not 1 yet, this is my 2nd Easter. I was 1 day old last year on Easter day. Mommy said the Easter Bunny brought me to them. here are my eggs . . . "hidden" more "hidden" eggs. The Easter bunny brough me a lawn mower toy. I'm honestly not too crazy about it yet 'cause it doesn't help support me while I am walking, and I don't walk independently quite yet. Mommy got jelly beans to put inside my easter eggs. She knew I wouldn't eat them, but thought I might like to hear them rattling around inside the egg. Then she realized that if I got the eggs open, the jelly beans would fall out, and I would likely put them into my mouth and choke on them. So Mommy and Daddy put Cheerio's in my Easter Eggs instead. Playing with my easter basket. Look . . . . It's the Easter Bunny!! Reading the Bearnstein Bears Easter book.

Reading a book

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Here I am all decked out in GREEN for the holiday (and holding Grandma Sylliaasen's cell phone :). I went to my first parade with the Callahan's - the St. Patty's day parade downtown. I didn't know whether to be excited or afraid of the loud bag piper bands. I got tired toward the end, so I took a nap on mommy's shoulder.

visitors

A couple weeks ago we had some visitors - Grandma and Grandpa DeGroff, and cousins Jaylee and Trista!!

The baby gate

Awhile ago mommy went out and bought what she thought was a nice baby gate. She brought it home and discovered it was not wide enough to go acoss the openening of the stairs. So she returned it. Mommy and daddy got the measurements, then went out and bought another nice gate that was wide enough. Mommy was reading the directions as daddy was taking it out of the box and putting it together and mommy read "WARNING. Do NOT use this gate at the top of stairs. Take this warning very seriously." So they boxed the 2nd gate up and returned it too. This is the 3rd baby gate that they bought, and it took mommy and daddy hours to put it together and get it installed. Then daddy stained and varnished it. Who knew a baby gate could create such a circus.

A picture of my tooth!!

napping with daddy

I've been sick off and on over the last several weeks, and daddy has been "the baby whisperer". He has gotten me to sleep sometimes when even mommy can't. Oops. The flash woke daddy up, but not me.
